The "Tufan Al-Qawafi" International Arabic Poetry Festival, in its first edition, announced an increase in its prize amount in collaboration with the Literary Creativity Center in the arts field and the Islamic Cultural Center in Southern Iraq. The festival will award two million Iraqi dinars and a diploma of honor to the best poet in both the classical poetry and folk poetry categories, while also granting 700,000 and 500,000 Iraqi dinars to two individuals in each category.
According to the announcement from the festival’s general secretariat, judges from Iraq, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran will assess the submitted poems for this festival. The secretariat has also published images for a specific section of the festival and asked participants to write a poem inspired by their chosen image and submit it to the festival secretariat.
