The Israeli army announced today, Monday, that it is still trying to confirm whether Marwan Issa, the deputy commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, was killed in an airstrike on an underground complex in central Gaza. In a statement, Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said, "On Saturday night to Sunday, in a joint operation of the Defense Forces and the Shin Bet, fighter jets struck an underground complex for Hamas leaders in central Gaza, in the Nuseirat area, which was used by two senior Hamas leaders, Marwan Issa and Ghazi Abu Tamiah, who previously served as the commander of the Middle Camps Brigade of Hamas and is currently responsible for Hamas's combat means." Hagari stated, "We are still examining the results of the attack and have not yet obtained a final confirmation." The spokesperson emphasized that no Israeli hostages were with the deputy commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades.
