Following a bloody day that resulted in deaths and injuries in the Syrian countryside of Idlib, Russian shelling renewed today, Friday, targeting areas in the outskirts of the province. The Syrian Civil Defense team confirmed that Russian airstrikes hit several villages in the countryside of Jisr al-Shughur, western Idlib, including Jiftlik Haj Hamoud, al-Zaynia, and al-Shukhayb. The Syrian Civil Defense revealed that the air and missile bombardment by Syrian and Russian forces on the countrysides of Aleppo and Idlib resulted in two deaths and 19 injuries.
A Russian warplane also launched heavy strikes targeting the outskirts of the village of al-Qarqour in the Ghab Plain, northwest of Hama province. This village has been a point of confrontation between armed factions and the Syrian army, with no recorded damage due to the absence of residents.
The region is experiencing intense reconnaissance aircraft activity over Mount Zawiya and the western Aleppo area, alongside Russian aircraft, with warnings issued by opposition observatories to alert against any sudden shelling. In this context, the Syrian army has intensified its shelling of militant positions in the Idlib countryside and managed to intercept a drone that flew over Homs in the al-Waer area.
