U.S. intelligence agencies revealed today, Monday, that the United States is facing "an increasingly fragile global system" amid pressures caused by competition among great powers, transnational challenges, and regional conflicts. This was stated in a report prepared by intelligence agencies prior to their leaders testifying before the Senate. In the annual 2024 report issued by a committee of U.S. intelligence regarding threat assessment, the agencies noted: “Ambitious and anxious China, confrontation-oriented Russia, as well as some regional powers like Iran and non-state actors with increasing capabilities all pose challenges to the long-established rules of the international system, in addition to the supremacy of the United States within it.”
