Sisi Receives Head of Russian Foreign Intelligence

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Tuesday, the head of Russian foreign intelligence, Sergey Naryshkin, along with his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Egyptian General Intelligence Director Major General Abbas Kamel. Naryshkin and the Egyptian president discussed the situation in the Middle East, reiterating both Russia and Egypt's readiness to continue deepening cooperation in the security field. According to a statement from the Russian intelligence, both sides "exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East in light of the crisis in Gaza, international terrorism, the situation in Ukraine and the African continent, and the Afghan issue." The statement noted that "the visit demonstrated the common grounds in addressing the relevant issues."
