The head of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, expressed his commitment on Tuesday evening to continue fighting against the "Rapid Support Forces," a paramilitary group, until "the last rebel is expelled." Al-Burhan, who is also the army commander, stated in a speech to the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday: "We are determined and moving together on the path of the martyrs until the last rebel and traitor is expelled from our land and every spot tainted by rebellion is cleansed." He noted that "victory is getting closer every day, thanks to the unity and solidarity of the people with their armed forces." Al-Burhan emphasized that there will be no return to the situation before April 15, 2023, nor to before October 25, 2022.
