In a new development toward de-escalation, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani discussed the issue of returning the ambassadors of both countries during a phone conversation, as reported by the "Mehr" news agency, citing the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The spokesperson stated, "The foreign ministers of Iran and Pakistan had a good phone conversation to restore relations at a higher level... and announced the beginning of discussions on the return of the ambassadors."
The office of the Pakistani Prime Minister emphasized on Friday that Pakistan and Iran are capable of overcoming minor disputes together through dialogue and diplomacy. It confirmed that Pakistan would welcome and reciprocate any positive actions taken by the Iranian side, according to Reuters. This announcement came after Pakistan earlier indicated it had reached an agreement with Iran to "de-escalate" tensions.
