The Saudi Ministry of Interior issued a statement today, Wednesday, regarding the execution of a citizen who killed another by shooting him. The statement mentioned that "Abdul Aziz bin Said bin Muhammad Al-Qahtani - a Saudi national - killed Saad bin Farid bin Muhammad Al-Shahrani - also a Saudi national - by shooting him, leading to his death due to a dispute between them."
The Interior Ministry added, "By the grace of God, the security forces were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation resulted in charges being brought against him for committing his crime. He was referred to the competent court, where a ruling was issued confirming the accusations against him, sentencing him to death as retribution. This ruling was upheld by the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to enact what was decided by Sharia."
The statement continued, "The death penalty was executed on the perpetrator Abdul Aziz bin Said bin Muhammad Al-Qahtani - a Saudi national - on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, corresponding to the 5th of Rabi' al-Awwal, 1445 Hijri in the Eastern Province."
The Ministry of Interior emphasized, "By announcing this, we affirm the Government of the Kingdom's commitment to ensuring security, achieving justice, and enforcing God's laws against anyone who violates the safety of others or sheds their blood. It also warns anyone who might think of committing such acts that the Sharia penalty will be their fate, and God guides to the right path."
