United States Announces New Aid Package for Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced today, Friday, a new aid package for Ukraine worth $6 billion, which will include munitions for the "Patriot" missile defense systems that Kyiv has stated could change the course of the war, but not the systems themselves. Austin said, "If Putin wins in Ukraine, the consequences will be global and significant, and Europe will face a security threat like we have never seen before." This is the second package announced this week, following the unveiling of a $1 billion aid package for Kyiv on Wednesday.
