Israeli war council member Benny Gantz confirmed that the war in Gaza is "long and will expand because the Lebanese government has not contained Hezbollah and the operation will begin soon." He added, "The situation on Israel's northern border must change and the time for diplomacy is running out." He stated, "There is a need to move towards a political solution, and if that does not happen, the defense army is ready." He continued, "The division among us is the fuel that our enemies ignite, and I will not leave the government due to disagreements with Ben Gvir." Gantz acknowledged that his presence at a gala while the battle in Gaza is ongoing was not a wise decision. He noted, "The next phases of the war will be strong and surprising. There are those who allow for undermining the army leaders who sacrifice themselves for us. We are facing a challenge that we have not faced since the establishment of our state, and as part of a shared destiny, everyone expects us to be united."
