The Israeli Ministry of Justice announced today, Friday, that it has suffered a large-scale cyber attack, with a hacking group claiming responsibility for the incident. The ministry stated that relevant authorities are working to assess the extent of the damage caused by the attack, noting that digital services have not been affected, and the investigation will continue for several days.
The Ministry of Justice mentioned, "The ministry had previously prepared for this type of scenario and reported it immediately to the relevant authorities. The extent of the materials is still under examination and it will take some time to investigate the content and scope of the incident, as well as the leaked materials and their source."
The group calling itself "Anonymous for Justice" took responsibility for the breach. In a video statement, they said, "We have hacked and wiped all servers of the Ministry of Justice of the Zionist regime in several operations. We hacked an astonishing amount of nearly 300 gigabytes of data, including messages, official documents, staff, addresses, phone numbers, and email."
Israeli media quickly reported that the group responsible for the attack is linked to Iran.
