Major Wall Street indices opened higher on Thursday as investors evaluated the latest data showing that inflation rose higher than expected in December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 51.41 points, or 0.14%, to 37,747.14 points. The S&P 500 opened up 8.68 points, or 0.18%, to 4,792.13 points, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 51.531 points, or 0.34%, to 15,020.96 points.
