Berri during his meeting with a French delegation: Commitment to the full implementation of Resolution 1701

Today, Thursday, the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, received a French delegation at his office in Ain al-Tineh. The delegation included Frédéric Mondolini, Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alice Rivo, Director General for International Relations and Strategy at the Ministry of Defense, Emmanuel Souke, Deputy Director for North Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with several advisors from the French Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs. The French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, was also present.

Dr. Mahmoud Berri, advisor to the Speaker, participated in the meeting, which focused on general conditions in Lebanon and the region in light of Israel's continued aggression against Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

President Berri affirmed the commitment to the full implementation of Resolution 1701 and emphasized the necessity of enhancing the Lebanese army's personnel and equipment and the cooperation with UNIFIL forces.

President Berri also received Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr al-Maliki and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Head of the Iraqi Mission to Lebanon, Amin al-Nasrawi, and the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Habhab. The meeting reviewed the general conditions and bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly the agricultural cooperation program between Lebanon and Iraq.

In the afternoon, the Speaker met with Latvian Health Minister Dr. Hossam Abu Mar'i, alongside the Latvian Consul in Lebanon, Gérard Renaud. The discussion revolved around general conditions and bilateral relations between the two countries.
