Security Forces Intervene in Multiple Theft Operations

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Saturday: "In the context of ongoing surveillance by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to pursue individuals wanted by the judiciary and apprehend them, and as a result of the field efforts conducted by the specialized units in the Information Division, one of the perpetrators of theft operations, active in the areas of Mount Lebanon and Beirut, was located. He was found to reside in the neighborhood of Hay Al-Sellom, and his name is M.F. (born in 1984, Lebanese). He is wanted under three criminal charges for theft.

On February 20, 2024, after careful surveillance, one of the division's patrols managed to raid his residence in the Hay Al-Sellom area and arrested him inside. A search of him and the home led to the seizure of a nylon envelope containing traces of brown powder, three mobile phones, and a sum of money. During the investigation, he confessed to carrying out dozens of theft operations in the areas of Mount Lebanon and Beirut, including but not limited to: theft from an engineering office in Hazmieh, theft of a safe from a house in Ras Al-Nabaa containing gold ounces and money, and theft of phones and bags in various locations such as Burj Hammoud, Mushrefiyeh, Mar Mikhael, Tayounah, Galerie Semaan, Al-Barbir, and Hamra. He also admitted to using heroin and hashish, acquiring these substances from the neighborhoods of Sabra and Hay Al-Sellom.

Legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred along with the seized items to the competent authority based on the judiciary's instructions."
