Video - Iraqi Duhok Province Wakes Up to a Disaster

A large fire broke out in a popular market in the center of Duhok province, Iraq, early this Monday, causing significant damage. The Civil Defense announced that the fire, which erupted at 3:43 AM, was brought under control after affecting more than 100 commercial shops.

According to a statement from the Civil Defense, 30 teams from 11 centers participated in extinguishing the fire, managing to control the flames within 3 hours and 20 minutes of continuous work.

During the fire, 8 civilians and 3 members of the Civil Defense were injured and transported to the hospital, where their health conditions are stable, limiting the losses to material damages.

Colonel Biwar Abdulaziz, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Duhok, stated to "Kurdistan24" that the fire was completely controlled and a special team was formed to investigate the causes of the fire. He clarified that the flames caused significant material damage to over 100 shops in the market, but no damage was reported to nearby residential houses.
