IMF Appoints Saudi Arabia to Chair Monetary Affairs Committee

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to chair the International Monetary and Financial Committee, with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan set to lead the committee. The committee provides support to the IMF Board of Governors regarding oversight of the global monetary and financial system, including the necessary measures to address potential disruptions in the system. Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan stated, "Saudi Arabia's selection to chair the International Monetary and Financial Committee for the period 2024 – 2027 reflects confidence in its global and regional leadership position and its pivotal role in enhancing multilateral international cooperation."
