This morning marked the beginning of the pre-conference activities for the 2024 World Government Summit, which will officially open in Dubai tomorrow and will run until February 14 under the theme "Looking Ahead to Governments of the Future."
The pre-conference day features the Arab Public Finance Forum and the Arab Youth Leadership Meeting, with extensive participation from senior officials, experts, futurists, decision-makers, thought leaders, and several international organizations. The World Government Summit serves as a comprehensive platform, hosting over 25 heads of state and government, more than 85 international and regional organizations, and global institutions, along with 120 government delegations and a selection of thought leaders and global experts. It aims to discuss major global future trends through over 110 main dialogue and interactive sessions.
The eighth session of the Arab Public Finance Forum, organized by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund and the International Monetary Fund, is themed "Designing More Efficient and Equitable Fiscal Policies to Address Vulnerabilities Related to Debt and Future Financial Challenges in a World Facing Stricter Financing Constraints."
The forum includes four dialogue sessions: the first titled "Macroeconomics: Developments and Outlook," the second titled "Success Stories in Energy Subsidy and Social Safety Net Reforms," the third titled "How Can We Create Value from Public Assets?" and the fourth session, under the title "Generating Revenue from Tax Reforms," which will evaluate tax administration reforms in the Arab region.
It is noteworthy that the 2024 World Government Summit will host 15 global forums focused on the future of vital sectors, organized in partnership with various international organizations, global technology institutions, and leading companies.
