The Aswan International Women’s Film Festival announced the honoring of star Ghada Adel during its eighth edition, which will be held from April 20 to 25. This recognition is in appreciation of her cinematic career that began in 1998 with the film "A Saidi in the American University," directed by Saeed Hamed. Throughout her career, she has presented a variety of films that achieved great commercial success, including "Aboud on the Borders," "Belly and His High Brain," "The Pasha's Student," "55 Ambulance," and "Made Me a Criminal." A significant turning point in her career came when she starred in the film "In an Apartment in New Cairo" directed by Mohamed Khan in 2007.
The festival administration emphasized that Ghada Adel's career is highly diverse, both in the themes of the films she presents, which range from comedy to social, musical, and action genres, as well as the directors and stars she has collaborated with. They noted that she has maintained her cinematic presence even during the toughest times that Egyptian cinema faced, including reduced production levels.
The festival management also highlighted that there are important roles that reveal Ghada Adel's considerable talent, including her role in "In an Apartment in New Cairo" with Mohamed Khan, "Maliki Alexandria" with Sandra Nashaat, and "The String" with Magdy El Hawary. She has consistently been a common presence in films of box office stars like Tamer Hosny, Kareem Abdulaziz, Ahmed El Sakka, Ahmed Ezz, Mohamed Henedy, and Amir Karara. Additionally, her success in portraying diverse roles for women from all walks of life has established her as one of the stars of the golden screen and among the most popular figures in contemporary Egyptian cinema.
