World Central Kitchen Resumes Operations in Gaza

The Hebrew newspaper "Ma'ariv" reported that the organization "World Central Kitchen" will resume its operations in the Gaza Strip starting tomorrow, Monday. "World Central Kitchen" is a non-governmental organization based in the United States. The organization was founded by chef José Andrés (an American of Spanish descent) and his wife Patricia in 2010 following a major earthquake in Haiti, to begin providing emergency food assistance to survivors. The organization later expanded to offer resilience training in the face of adversity, provide meals and support to survivors of other natural disasters, as well as to refugees and those affected by conflicts. It has provided tens of millions of meals in Ukraine since the onset of the Russian war in 2022. The organization participated in the first shipment of aid sent via a maritime corridor from Cyprus to the Gaza Strip in March. A second shipment from the organization, carrying 332 tons of food, is expected to arrive in Gaza this week. The organization announced that citizens from Australia, the UK, and Poland were among 7 of its staff members killed in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza in early April.
