US Military Destroys 4 Houthi Drones for the Second Consecutive Day

The US military announced early Friday that it had destroyed four unmanned aerial systems launched by the Houthis in Yemen the previous day, marking the second consecutive day of such actions. In a statement via the platform "X," it said, "Between 6:00 and 10:56 PM (Sanaa time) on March 28, for the second consecutive day, the US Central Command successfully engaged and destroyed four unmanned aerial systems launched by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen."

It added, "These drones were targeting a coalition ship and a US warship over the Red Sea." There were no reports of injuries or damage to US ships or coalition forces. On Thursday, the US military announced shortly after midnight that it had destroyed four long-range drones launched by the Houthis, with no injuries or damages reported.

The US Central Command stated in a report concerning its operations on Wednesday: "The Central Command was able to identify and destroy four long-range drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen." The statement also mentioned, "These drones targeted a US warship, which in turn defended itself in the Red Sea area."

It is noteworthy that since November 19, the Houthi group has targeted about 73 ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea with drones and missiles (according to their figures), claiming they are linked to Israel or heading to its ports. These attacks have forced companies to take a longer and more expensive route around Africa. Additionally, one attack resulted in the sinking of a cargo ship named "Rubymar," which was carrying hazardous materials. One of the attacks also resulted in the deaths of three sailors due to a missile strike on the vessel "True Confidence," which was flying the Barbadian flag and operated by Greece.
