Moscow: Western Claims About Russia's Invasion of Kyiv Are Madness and Panic

Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, stated on Sunday that the West's thinking about how many days Kyiv could be defeated is madness and panic. Commenting on reports regarding this, published by Western media on Saturday, Polyansky wrote on his Twitter page: "Madness and panic continue... What would happen if we said that the United States could defeat London in a week, resulting in 300,000 deaths? Based on intelligence that we do not disclose? Is that considered acceptable by the Americans and British? No. And it is not acceptable for the Russians and Ukrainians either," as reported by Russian media.

Amid escalating tensions between Moscow and the West over Ukraine, a report from U.S. intelligence indicated that Russia is speeding up its preparations for an invasion of Ukraine, as reported by American media. The U.S. intelligence report predicted that Kyiv could fall within two days.

Previously, agencies like "Reuters" and "AFP" reported unnamed American officials stating that Russian forces could defeat Kyiv "within two days" if Russia were to attack Ukraine. They also confirmed that the total casualty count from a potential conflict between Russia and Ukraine could reach approximately 85,000.

Additionally, the U.S. Army announced the arrival of military reinforcements in Poland to reassure allies concerned about the Russian-Ukrainian tensions. The army stated on Saturday that General Christopher Donahue, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, has arrived in Poland. Army spokesperson Matt Viser mentioned in a statement that "the presence of our Corps aims to reinforce the American forces in Europe and demonstrates our commitment to our NATO allies and partners."
