Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated today, Monday, that "Hezbollah thought that Israel was a spider's web, and suddenly saw which 'spider' we are talking about." This statement came during his inspection of the Israeli "Dvora" unit on the border with Lebanon, according to the official broadcasting corporation's Kan channel.
Netanyahu said, "I chose to come to Kiryat Shmona while we are under fire from anti-tank weapons." He added, "Hezbollah misjudged us in 2006, and they are making a big mistake against us even now."
He continued, stating to Israeli soldiers: "Hezbollah thought we were a spider's web, and suddenly they saw what kind of spider we are. They see here tremendous power, and a determination to do everything necessary to restore security in the north, and I tell you: this is my policy."
He went on to address the Israeli soldiers: "We will do everything we can to restore security in the north and allow your families, many of whom are from the area, to return home safely. You know that we cannot be trifled with, and we will do whatever is necessary. Of course, we prefer to do this without a large battle, but that will not stop us."
