The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi announced that more than 60,000 fans attended the Saudi Super Cup football matches held in Abu Dhabi from April 8 to 11, featuring four teams: Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, and Al-Wahda. On Thursday, the Al-Hilal team was crowned champion after defeating Al-Ittihad 4-1 in the final match at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
The semi-final matches included Al-Ittihad facing Al-Wahda at Al-Nahyan Stadium, with Al-Ittihad winning, and the second match saw Al-Hilal against Al-Nassr at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, with Al-Hilal prevailing to qualify for the final against Al-Ittihad.
The tourism identity "Welcome to Abu Dhabi," under the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, won the bid to host the Saudi Super Cup for the first time in an Arab country outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mohamed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, the Secretary-General of the UAE Football Association, stated that the success of this season’s Saudi Super Cup enhances Abu Dhabi's record of success in organizing sporting events. He added, "Congratulations to Al-Hilal on the title, and we thank everyone who contributed to the details of this important sporting event."
The tournament featured participation from major football stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, alongside regional talents such as Salem Al-Dawsari and Abderrazak Hamdallah.
