The Israeli army announced today, Sunday, that a senior Israeli officer was injured moderately during clashes with Palestinian factions in northern Gaza. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the deputy supervisor of the Israeli defense system in Gaza, Brigadier General Yogeve Bar Shisht, was injured two days ago. The channel confirmed on its website that "Brigadier General Bar Shisht was hit by shrapnel during a clash that took place in the Zeitoun neighborhood in northern Gaza," noting that "Shisht is the highest-ranking officer to be injured in combat within the sector since the onset of the war on Gaza on October 7."
