The National Center of Meteorology in Saudi Arabia warned of medium to heavy thunderstorms across wide areas of the Kingdom, accompanied by hail and active winds stirring up dust and sand. The regions expected to receive thunderstorms include Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Mecca, Medina, Tabuk, Hail, Qassim, and Riyadh, with light to moderate rain anticipated in parts of the Eastern Province. Wind speeds could reach 60 km/h with the formation of thunderstorm clouds over the central and southern regions, as well as toward the Bab el Mandeb strait. Wave heights are expected to range from one to one and a half meters, and could exceed two meters with the development of thunderstorm clouds over the central and southern regions, also towards the Bab el Mandeb strait.
The National Center of Meteorology warned of the risks of floods and river currents, especially in low-lying areas, and advised adherence to safety instructions and avoiding water accumulation areas. Meanwhile, videos documented the weather fluctuations in neighborhoods of the Al-Dawadmi province amidst this instability affecting many areas, as the waters flooded residential areas. One video illustrated severe lightning illuminating the skies over Al-Dawadmi in conjunction with the rainfall, while another clip showcased raging floods in Al-Hufayrah south of Al-Dawadmi, laden with piles of hail.
