Arab Parliament: Israeli Attack on Rafah Undermines Ceasefire Efforts

The Arab Parliament condemned the Israeli occupation's attack on the city of Rafah and its control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, asserting that it is a "serious escalation that undermines efforts to reach a ceasefire and spare the blood of Palestinian civilians who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster since the onset of the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip, condemning the injured and sick to death amid the collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza and the control over the safe passage for humanitarian and relief aid."

In a statement, the Arab Parliament emphasized that "the developments on the occupied Palestinian territory, and the ongoing rampage of the occupation entity in Rafah intentionally sabotaging efforts to achieve a truce and ceasefire, are a clear embodiment of the law of the jungle and a blatant violation of all norms, laws, and international resolutions. This will lead the world into a dark tunnel and warn of a new disaster that could end any remaining humanitarian efforts, leading to complete genocide and forced displacement of millions of Palestinians."

The Parliament called on "the international community, free nations, the Security Council, and the American administration to exert pressure more than ever on the occupation entity to avoid further escalation and compel it to reach a sustainable truce and an immediate and permanent ceasefire."
