Six Syrian Kurdish Forces Killed in Attack on U.S. Base

Forces led by the Kurds and supported by the United States reported today, Monday, that six of their fighters were killed in a drone attack carried out by armed groups supported by Iran from areas in Deir ez-Zor controlled by the Syrian government. Farhad Shami, a spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is led by the Kurds, stated that the drone exploded in a special forces academy belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces at a U.S. base in the Al-Omar oil field, resulting in the "martyrdom of six of our special forces fighters." The Islamic resistance in Iraq, which includes several Iraqi armed groups supported by Iran, claimed responsibility on Monday for the drone attack on Al-Omar field, stating that the attack was conducted yesterday, Sunday, February 4th.
