Hamas Requests Turkey's Presence as a Guarantor for Ceasefire Agreement

Israeli broadcasting authority revealed today, Friday, that Hamas has requested the presence of Turkey as a guarantor for the ceasefire agreement currently being negotiated between Hamas and Israel. The authority explained that during the negotiations, representatives of Hamas asked to include the Turkish government as a guarantor of the agreement, alongside the three mediators: the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. It added that a final text has not yet been agreed upon by both sides. For his part, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich criticized Netanyahu, stating that "hiding the participation of Erdogan's representatives in the hostage exchange negotiations is a national insult." Channel 13 in Israel reported that Hamas is demanding written guarantees for the cessation of hostilities, opposing the prohibition on the return of released prisoners to the West Bank, and seeking clarifications regarding the types of materials allowed for entering the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
