The draw for the 2025 Women's Euro football qualifiers held today, Tuesday, in Nyon, Switzerland, resulted in England, the defending champion, being placed in a tough group with France and Sweden. France lost to Spain in the Nations League final last month, but they qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics and are ranked third in the world, while England is fourth and Sweden is fifth. England defeated Sweden in the semifinals on their way to winning the 2022 Euros. Ireland is in Group C of Pot 1.
In Pot 1 as well, World Champion Spain will play against Denmark, Belgium, and the Czech Republic in Group B, while Germany, a four-time European Champion, faces Austria, Iceland, and Poland in Group D.
The top two teams from each group in Pot 1 will qualify for the finals in July 2025, along with Switzerland, the host nation, which competes in Pot 2 despite having direct qualification. The remaining seven teams will be determined through two rounds of playoff matches.
