Iran Announces Candidates Registration for Presidency

The Iranian election committee announced today, Sunday, in a statement that the registration for presidential candidates has been opened. According to Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian election committee stated that "applications for candidates wishing to run in the fourteenth presidential election will be registered at the Ministry of Interior from Thursday, May 30, 2024, to Monday, June 3, 2024, starting from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (for a duration of 10 hours)." The Iranian election committee also mentioned in its statement that candidates must be at least 40 years old and not older than 75 years at the time of registration. It emphasized that candidates must "hold at least a master's degree or an equivalent qualification accredited by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, or the Center for Management of Religious Seminars."
