French Deputy Thomas Portes stated that more than 4,000 Israeli soldiers participating in the war on the Gaza Strip are dual French nationals. Portes referenced a poll conducted by the "Europe1" network, which revealed that 4,185 soldiers of French nationality are currently mobilized in the Israeli army on the front in Gaza. He mentioned in a post on "X" that this is the largest contingent after the United States, and considering the war crimes committed by the Israeli army in both Gaza and the West Bank, it is unacceptable for French citizens to participate. He called on his government to condemn the involvement of dual nationals in war crimes with the utmost firmness and urged the Minister of Justice to bring individuals holding French nationality (including dual nationals) convicted of war crimes to French justice.
