Son-in-law of Hezbollah Leader: Surprising Details About Wisam al-Tawil

After Hezbollah announced yesterday the death of military leader Wisam al-Tawil due to an Israeli strike, new details emerged about the prominent figure within the party and his relationship with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Some sources revealed that al-Tawil was a member of Hezbollah's Shura Council and also had a familial connection to Nasrallah, according to the Wall Street Journal. Israeli reports claimed that al-Tawil was the brother of Huda al-Tawil, Nasrallah's third wife, although this information is not widely circulated in Lebanon. The family of the party leader has remained somewhat obscure and hidden from the public eye for years, despite his media appearances, as reported by Al Arabiya.

Most Painful Loss

Al-Tawil is considered the most prominent military leader in Hezbollah killed by Israeli fire since the escalation at the border with Israel following the outbreak of war in Gaza on October 7 of last month. His death is regarded as the most painful blow to the group so far, particularly since he led the party's operations in the south within what is known as the "Al-Ridwan Brigade," described as the special force that includes its elite fighters.
