Al Olama accompanied the photo with a caption saying, "It was great to meet Elon Musk today at the AI Safety Summit in the UK. Policymakers must work alongside leaders shaping this field to ensure that their policies are responsible, practical, and impactful."
Political leaders, executives from major technology companies, and AI experts are meeting to discuss the potential risks associated with advanced generative AI programs. Musk had previously called in March for a "pause" in research on advanced AI technologies, including "Chat GPT 4," alongside hundreds of other global experts. The billionaire will hold talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after the summit.
Al Olama has been serving as the Minister of Artificial Intelligence in the UAE since its establishment in 2017 and was recently featured in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential figures in AI, alongside Musk.
