The Emirati club "Al Ain" lost to Japan's "Yokohama Mariners" 1-2 today, Saturday, in the first leg of the final of the latest edition of the AFC Champions League in its current format. Midfielder Mohammed Abbas opened the scoring for Al Ain, the champion of the first edition in 2003, in the 12th minute, before the hosts equalized in the final minutes of the second half through Asahi Uenaka (72) and Kota Watanabe (84). The second leg of the AFC Champions League is scheduled to take place next Saturday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City.
