Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian described today, Sunday, the claims that Tehran is directly connected to Hamas's attack on October 7th as "baseless." In an interview with CNN, Amir Abdollahian stated, "We have always supported Palestine politically, media-wise, and internationally. We have never denied that." He added, "This is the truth, but regarding this operation called Al-Aqsa Flood, there was no connection between Iran and this Hamas operation, neither by my government nor any entity from my country." He further remarked, "This is the truth, but regarding this operation called Al-Aqsa Flood, there was no connection between those data and Iran's involvement in this Hamas operation, neither by my government nor any entity from my country." He noted that linking Iran to any attack in the region, specifically if U.S. interests are targeted, without providing evidence is "completely wrong." He stated that people in the region are angry and "they do not take orders from us. They act according to their own interests. What happened, what was carried out by Hamas, was entirely Palestinian."
