Hassan Tembakti, a player from Al-Shabab, officially signed a 4-year contract with Al-Hilal on Monday in a deal that is the most expensive in the history of Saudi player transfers, with the player set to earn around 15 million riyals annually. Al-Hilal managed to outbid Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ahli to secure the signature of Tembakti after a fierce competition among the four clubs.
Tembakti was the talk of the final hours in the transfer market for the Roshan Saudi League, especially after expressing his desire to leave and confirming he would join the club that would make the best offer for Al-Shabab. Saudi newspaper "Okaz" reported that the Saudi international defender signed the contract early this morning with Al-Hilal in the presence of the presidents of both clubs, Fahd bin Nafel and Khalid Al-Thunayan, and Fahd Al-Mufrej, in addition to the player's agent.
While media sources did not disclose the value of the deal, "Okaz" merely noted that it is the most expensive in the history of Saudi player transfers. The intervention of golden member Prince Alwaleed bin Talal helped finalize the player's transfer to Al-Hilal by increasing the amount to close the deal.
Some sources on the platform "X" indicated that the deal includes the loan transfer of some Al-Hilal players to Al-Shabab, with names such as Mohammed Jahfali, Abdullah Radeef, and Hamad Al-Yami being circulated by users. The former president of Al-Shabab, Khalid Al-Baltan, stated a few days ago during comments on the television program "Dourina Ghair" that the price of Hassan Tembakti is currently no less than 180 million Saudi riyals. It is noteworthy that Al-Hilal intensified its efforts to sign Tembakti following the injury of its Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who will be absent for about a month.
