Saudi Industry Concludes the Riyadh International Industry Week 2024

The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources concluded the activities of the Riyadh International Industry Week 2024, held under the patronage of Minister Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khereif, from May 6 to 9 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event saw participation from over 522 companies from 23 countries, including 385 international companies and 115 local ones.

The week featured four specialized exhibitions: the Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition, the Saudi Printing and Packaging Exhibition, the Saudi Smart Logistics Services Exhibition, and the Saudi Smart Manufacturing Exhibition. Numerous activities took place during the week, attended by government officials and representatives from the private sector. Over 10 sessions were held discussing various topics, including the integration of petrochemical supply chains and its role in enhancing industrial competitiveness, local content and localization and their impact on boosting domestic production capacity, industrial infrastructure in light of the industrial transformation journey, opportunities for export and industrial financing, and the journey towards competitiveness in the industrial sector.

Additionally, the Riyadh International Industry Week 2024 included several workshops focused on operational excellence in national factories, introducing support services and programs for entrepreneurs and factory owners, and objectives of the national industry strategy in the specialized and transformative chemicals sector and inorganic chemicals. The workshops also discussed the abundance of raw materials, explained the related official channels, competition fairness, and the importance of industrial excellence and quality in the factories of the future, among other vital topics in the industrial sector.

During the week, the Ministry signed a cooperation agreement with the National Program for the Development of Information Technology, aimed at collaborating to provide industrial capabilities and products to several national companies in the information technology and emerging technologies sector to enhance their competitiveness locally and internationally.

The Ministry organized an event for the "Factories of the Future" program, where the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalil bin Salama, honored 12 advanced factories and awarded 6 factories for their digital transformation efforts from the Saudi Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority "Modon." The event also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry and the Saudi Export Development Authority aimed at enhancing Saudi non-oil exports by supporting exporters for the Kingdom to become a leader in this field.

It is noteworthy that the Riyadh International Industry Week is the most prominent of its kind in the region in terms of direction and innovation, aligning with the aspirations and future of the Saudi industry and achieving the objectives of the national industry strategy.
