Today, the draw for the group stage of the Asian Basketball Champions League "BCL Asia" 2024 was held. The tournament is set to take place in the UAE from June 9 to June 15. Eight teams are participating in the tournament: "Shabab Al-Ahli UAE (the host), NS Matrix D'Onofrio from Malaysia, Liaoning Flying Leopards, the champion of China, Hiroshima Dragonflies, the champion of Japan, Pelita Jaya from Indonesia, KCC Egis, the champion of South Korea, and the champion and runner-up of the Wasel tournament." It is worth mentioning that the semi-finals of the Wasel tournament will take place today, where Al-Riyadi Beirut will play against Gorgan from Iran, while Al-Kuwait will meet Al-Hikmah.
The eight teams have been divided into two groups, each consisting of four teams.
The results of the draw are as follows:
- **Group A**: NS Matrix D'Onofrio (Malaysia), Shabab Al-Ahli UAE (the host), Liaoning Flying Leopards (champion of China), and the champion of the Wasel tournament.
- **Group B**: Hiroshima Dragonflies (champion of Japan), runner-up of the Wasel tournament, Pelita Jaya (Indonesia), and KCC Egis (champion of South Korea).
Each team will play a total of three matches in the group stage, and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the first-placed teams from Group A and Group B will play against the second-placed teams from the opposite group, with the winners from each semi-final advancing to the final. The champion of the Asian Champions League will qualify for the Continental Basketball Cup.
