Emergency and rescue teams from the Youth Movement for Development and Peace supported the Lebanese Civil Defense in extinguishing the fire that broke out this afternoon in the Banequdin Valley. They also assisted in rescuing the head of the Kfarjarrah Civil Defense, Jihad Andraous, and transported him to "Labib Abu Ther Hospital" for necessary treatment after he was injured in his back and hand due to falling in the valley while performing his humanitarian duties.
A massive fire erupted this afternoon in the area between the towns of Namiriyeh and Sharqiyeh, coinciding with a similar fire in the area between Namiriyeh and Kawthariyah Al-Siyad. The flames consumed large areas of grass and forest trees, extending to the surroundings of residential homes, and Civil Defense teams in Nabatieh and its region worked to contain and extinguish the fire. A significant fire also broke out around the Jurmuk forests, specifically near the Zareqon River, and civil defense teams worked to contain and extinguish it.
