Aiman Kadirova on the European Sanctions List... Who Is She?

The European Union has included Ms. Aiman Kadirova, the mother of the Governor of the Chechen Republic of Russia and head of the Akhmad Kadyrov Charity Fund, on its sanctions list "for her fund's contribution to supplying the Russian army with provisions." A statement published in the official journal of the European Union noted that "Aiman Kadirova has been listed due to her involvement in the program to re-educate Ukrainian children, assisting the families of Chechen fighters involved in the Russian military operation in Ukraine, and her contributions to supplying Russian military personnel with provisions and technical equipment." It is noteworthy that the Governor of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has repeatedly mocked Western sanctions against him, Russia, and Russian officials and their associates. He has called on Western officials to intensify sanctions against him, viewing it as a great honor for himself and for every Russian citizen subject to the sanctions of Russia’s enemies.
