Saudi Dunya Ali Abu Talib achieved victory in a highly anticipated match against Israeli Abishag Samberg, in the women's taekwondo competition for the 49 kg weight class at the Paris Olympics. During the bout that took place on Wednesday afternoon, the Saudi taekwondo athlete won a closely contested match, with a score of two rounds to one, qualifying for the quarterfinals. Samberg had won the first round, but Dunya came back to win the next two rounds, securing an important victory. Samberg was considered the favorite to win after clinching a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
