The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced that "in the framework of the efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to enhance international security cooperation in combating organized crime, the Central Criminal Investigations Department of the Judicial Police, in coordination with Interpol Madrid, uncovered a human smuggling network extending from Lebanon to South America and then to Europe. The identities of its members, spread across various countries, have been identified, and the Lebanese link, known as A. A. (born in 1974, of Palestinian nationality), nicknamed 'Al-Nabulsi,' has been arrested."
It added: "During the investigation, he confessed to smuggling numerous individuals from Lebanon to Europe via South America for a fee of 10,000 US dollars per person, half of which is paid in Lebanon and the other half in South America. He was found in possession of 60 identification documents for individuals who were smuggled to Europe. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
