American model of Palestinian descent Bella Hadid continues to show her support and solidarity with the Palestinian people, most recently by participating in the music video for the song "Gaza Is Calling" by Sudanese-Canadian artist Mustafa Ahmed, known as "Mustafa the Poet." The poet shared a promotional clip for his new song on his Instagram account, which is set to be released today. In the video, the famous model is seen sitting on a sofa in a home decorated in an Arab style, her features reflecting sadness and pain.
In the song, Bella tries to console her childhood friend by reaching out to him, revealing that they both endured a painful past in Gaza amidst the destruction. Mustafa shared that he began writing and recording the song in 2022 and reached out to the model of Palestinian descent to participate in the video at that time, filming it last year. The Sudanese artist also revealed that the proceeds from the song will go to a relief fund for Palestinian children.
Bella is joined by several Palestinian artists in the video, including Gazan rapper Abdul Rahman Al-Shanti, and Esra and Younis from Jenin. The young model does not stop supporting the Palestinian cause and highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza through posts on her social media accounts, as well as participating in demonstrations condemning the ongoing war on the besieged coastal enclave for the past six months, despite facing harsh criticism from Israelis. Recently, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir referred to the Palestinian-born model as a "hater of Israel" in a post on the platform "X."
