Announcement of the Rematch Date between Usyk and Fury

Oleksandr Usyk will face Tyson Fury in a rematch of their last bout on December 21, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to Turki Al-Sheikh, the head of the General Entertainment Authority. Al-Sheikh stated via his account on the "X" platform on Wednesday: "The rematch between Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and Champion Tyson Fury will take place on December 21, 2024, during Riyadh Season. The world will watch another historical fight again... Our commitment to boxing fans continues... We hope you enjoy it."

Ukrainian Usyk captured the first unified heavyweight title in 25 years on May 19 by defeating the British Fury by a split decision from the judges. Two judges scored in favor of Usyk 115-112 and 114-113, while the third judge scored it for the British boxer 114-113. Usyk improved his record to 22-0, with 14 wins by knockout, while Fury suffered his first loss after 34 wins, including 24 by knockout, and one draw.

Usyk joined legends such as Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, and Mike Tyson as an undisputed heavyweight champion, being the first since the boxing world recognized four belts in the 21st century. The last boxer to win a unified world title (three belts at that time) was British Lennox Lewis, who defeated American Evander Holyfield in 1999.
