Omani news agency reported that the three perpetrators involved in the shooting incident near a mosque in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabir area were of Omani nationality. It added, "The perpetrators were brothers who met their end due to their insistence on resisting security forces, and investigations indicated that they were influenced by misguided ideologies." This incident marks a rare security breach in one of the most stable countries in the Middle East. The Omani police announced on Tuesday evening the completion of handling the shooting incident that occurred on Monday in Muscat Governorate. According to the Omani news agency, the incident resulted in the "death of 5 individuals, the killing of a police officer, the deaths of the three perpetrators, and injuries to 28 people of various nationalities, including 4 individuals while performing their national duty as police officers and members of the civil defense and ambulance service, who were transported to health facilities for treatment." The "ISIS" organization claimed responsibility for the attack on Tuesday via the Telegram app. The Omani police emphasized the "importance of obtaining information from official sources and not paying attention to information from unreliable entities."
