The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Tunisia's decision to cancel the visa requirement for Iraqi citizens today, Friday. The ministry expressed its appreciation for the Tunisian government's decision to allow Iraqi citizens to enter Tunisia without a prior visa. It stated, "This decision aligns with the outcomes of the 17th session of the Iraqi-Tunisian joint committee held in Baghdad on May 12, 2024." The ministry's statement indicated that "the decision will enable Iraqi citizens to enter Tunisian territory without needing to obtain a visa in advance, as part of enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Tunisia and encouraging tourism and trade exchanges between the two countries. This decision is expected to increase the number of Iraqi tourists to Tunisia, as well as strengthen economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries."
