The Ministry of Economy and Trade, under the direction of Minister Amin Salam, announced that "starting tomorrow morning, it will begin processing commercial enterprises' transactions by receiving all import and export transactions electronically, without the hassle of attending the ministry or port in person. Therefore, all food importers can now complete their transactions online."
It indicated that "this step is part of the emergency plan set by the Ministry of Economy, aimed at enhancing the policy of administrative reform and combating corruption, in addition to developing a system for automating transactions. This includes: customs declaration verification, inspection of containers, and sending samples for analysis."
While the Ministry of Economy affirmed its "commitment and strong interest in completing the full automation project for the ministry, especially in these exceptional and difficult circumstances the country is experiencing," it highlighted that "the goal of this step is to facilitate and expedite commercial transactions, reduce burdens and costs on citizens and institutions, as well as combat corruption and reform administration."
