The Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Raï emphasized that "the events we are experiencing, including conflicts, wars, and persecution of Christians, raise many questions," pointing to "the role of the Church and Christians in preserving the image of Christ in every human being." He stated from Dbayeh: "We received letters from the south explaining their catastrophic situation due to the war. In the face of this black tunnel, we find our people divided; one group was forced to flee, while another remained steadfast in their land to protect their livelihoods, and this group is challenging all difficulties." Al-Raï considered that "at this time, while talks are underway in the region, it is essential to elect a president for the republic in light of the parliament's loss of legislative authority."
