Egyptian media outlets have revealed the truth regarding the rumors of the suspension of the program "Al-Rimontada," hosted by Ahmed Hossam "Mido," a former star of the Egyptian national team, on Al-Mahwar satellite channel. According to the newspaper "Al-Masry Al-Youm," Al-Mahwar channel decided to suspend "Al-Rimontada" unexpectedly, with the last episode aired yesterday hosted by journalist Mohamed Abbas.
Cairo 24 reported that Yousra Al-Laythi, Mido's wife, stated that there is no truth to the rumors about the suspension of Mido's program, confirming that her husband continues to work normally on Al-Mahwar channel.
The news of Mido's program suspension coincided with the decision of the United Media Services Company to suspend journalist Ahmed Shobir and terminate his contract due to violations of professional rules and the company's content policies. The statement from the United Company yesterday read: "The Board of Directors of the United Media Services Company unanimously decided to suspend the program hosted by Ahmed Shobir, and according to the media contract with him, this suspension leads to an immediate termination of the contract, as violation of professional rules and company content policies is unacceptable. The United Company prioritizes respecting the opinions of the Egyptian public."
