Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, is planning for life after the departure of their Belgian star, Kevin De Bruyne, and has set its sights on a potential replacement. The British newspaper "Mirror" reported that Man City sees Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze as De Bruyne's successor, who is nearing a move to Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad.
The newspaper added that the "City" management is considering making a substantial offer of £68 million to sign Eze. The 26-year-old Eze excels in midfield and can also take on a significant attacking role due to his remarkable dribbling abilities. Eze has a contract with Crystal Palace that runs until the summer of 2027, with a release clause of £60 million. His departure would be a major blow to the London club, which already lost their French winger Michael Oliseh to Bayern Munich this summer.
